Hickory Horned Devil - A Regal Moth in the Making

The hickory horned devil is the largest caterpillar that occurs in East Texas and looks like a small dragon. For some people who come across it unexpectedly, it can be very intimidating. In spite of its scary appearance, the hickory horned devil is completely harmless.
