Causes of Soil Compaction

In order to understand and visualize soil compaction more completely, the underlying causes must be appreciated. Soil compaction is primarily caused by construction and development activities, utility installation, infrastructure use and maintenance, and concentrated animal, pedestrian, and vehicle traffic.
